GeoAlert is a personal safety app.
that lets you shake your phone to update your location and notify your contacts that you are in danger.Start by creating an account and completing a personal profile containing identifying information and an image of yourself.
You can add contacts by sending invites to them using their username.
Once accepted, you will be able to view their profile and location (if they have enabled it).
Before you go out for the evening, or before your walk home, you can activate the sensor.
Then if you are ever in trouble you can simply shake your phone and the alert will be activated, this will update your status and send a notification to all of your contacts.
Your contacts can then see exactly where you activated the signal, as well as track your location.
This app also makes a good anti-theft device.
By setting the sensor sensitivity very low, the sensor will be activated when it is picked up and moved, even slightly.
Then your contacts can track the location of your stolen Android device.
Location details: - Passive location updates approximately every 30 mins, or as soon as a GPS and/or data connection is available.- Location is updated immediately when the alert is activated, or as soon as a GPS and/or data connection is available.- Turn off your profile map location and address, and disable the location updater from the settings.
(Make sure to re-enable this functionality before you activate the sensor if you want your contacts to see your location if/when you activate an alert)
